VAMPS were formed in 2008 by HYDE (L’Arc~en~Ciel) and K.A.Z (Oblivion Dust). In their dazzling 5 year-long career they have played more than 250 lives both within Japan and abroad. Their unprecedented and varied tour style shows that they’re a rock band like no other – playing “take over” lives, which sees them play consecutive lives at the nationwide ZEPP venues, as well as playing arena venues, outdoor venues such as at Laguna Beach, and annually hosting Halloween live events.

Their enthusiastic activities are limited not only within Japan but take them overseas, having toured North and South America, Europe and Asia. In South America, their album “BEAST” charted in at 4th place – the first time a Japanese artist has achieved such success. The live footage from this live “VAMPS LIVE 2010 WORLD TOUR CHILE” attracted great attention and charted in at first place in the Japanese music DVD sales charts.

VAMPS announced their move to Universal Music/Delicious Deli Records in 2013, with their eyes set not only on Japan but overseas. The DVD “VAMPS LIVE 2012”, marked their first release since their move, featuring footage from the final performance of their 49-gig tour in 2012. Released on April 24th, the DVD charted in at first place in the Oricon Weekly Blu-ray charts (3rd in the music DVD charts, 7th overall). Following this success, the release of their double A-side single “AHEAD/REPLAY” on July 3rd charted in at 3rd place on the Oricon Weekly Single Charts, and “SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL” debuted at #2 on the Oricon Weekly Album Charts.
