MeteoroiD have added a new guitarist to their lineup, mikado (帝). Fans can follow mikado on his official blog and Twitter. mikado also has his own fanmail address at email@example.com.
Along with MeteoroiD’s new style and name stylization change, the band will be beginning anew with 3 new single releases in a series titled, “Kurobara Sanbugekisho.” The releases will be as follows:
01.23.15 – Kurobara Sanbugekisho ~1st Illness~ “Sokubaku”
03.11.15 – Kurobara Sanbugekisho ~2nd Illness~ “Fukushuu”
04.13.15 – Kurobara Sanbugekisho ~3rd Illness~ “Kurobara”
Following their performance at Shibuya REX on January 23, 2015, MeteoroiD will be holding an instore event, “Sokubaku no Aida.” Additionally, on February 11, 2015, MeteoroiD will be having a sponsored live at Shibuya REX.
MeteoroiD’s first single, “Sokubaku, will feature two tracks, “racrimosa,” and “Doukoku no Aida,” respectively. Fans can get a taste of what’s to come on their newest single on YouTube.
MeteoroiD’s concept is “illness.” With the motif of the previously announced “Kurobara Sanbugekisho” singles and, “Modern society, everyday illness,” MeteoroiD want to convey an outlook without lies. With their newest member and guitarist, mikado, MeteoroiD, whose musicianship level has increased even more, hope that fans will continue to look forward to their music.
Noted for their powerful and energetic live performances, MeteoroiD is an up-and-coming visual kei powerhouse in Japan. MeteoroiD began as a session band in 2012 with vocalist GENKI, bassist ral, and drummer Tomoya, but became an official band in 2013 when guitarists Yutori and Machi joined. On February 13, 2013, MeteoroiD released their first single, “Diver.” They quickly caught attention in the visual kei scene with their unique look and sound combined with their eclectic and vibrant personalities mixed together on stage. On the 6th of August, MeteoroiD released their first full album, “GEMINI.” However, following their oneman performace on September 27, 2014, guitarist Yutori left the band.
Towards the end of 2014, MeteoroiD changed not only their image to a much darker look but their concept to “illness.” On November 21, 2014, MeteoroiD welcomed their newest member and guitarist mikado to the band.
